Peak Recruitment NZ Limited ("Peak Recruitment", "we", "our" or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information entrusted to us.


This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, hold, disclose, protect and manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand), including the Information Privacy Principles and the requirements relating to the indirect collection of personal information under Information Privacy Principle 3A (IPP 3A).

Candidates

We may collect and hold personal information including:

·      consultant observations and candidate assessments;

·      criminal history information where lawfully obtained and relevant;

·      correspondence with Peak Recruitment.

As part of providing recruitment services, we may also create internal recruitment records, interview summaries, suitability assessments and consultant notes.


Clients and Employers

We may collect:

·      organisational structures;

·      candidate feedback;

·      recruitment history;

·      service evaluations; and

Reference checks will only be undertaken with your knowledge and authorisation unless otherwise permitted by law.


5. Indirect Collection of Personal Information (IPP 3A)


Where we collect personal information about an individual from someone other than that individual, Peak Recruitment will take reasonable steps to notify the individual as soon as reasonably practicable, unless an exception under the Privacy Act 2020 applies.


Such notification may include:

·      that information will or has been collected;

·      the purpose of collection;

·      who may receive the information;

·      the identity of the organisation collecting and holding the information;

·      whether providing information is voluntary;

·      the consequences of not providing information where applicable; and

·      the individual's rights to request access to and correction of their personal information.

·      introduce candidates to prospective employers;

Peak Recruitment uses reputable cloud-based technology providers and software platforms to operate our business.

These providers may store or process personal information outside New Zealand.

Where personal information is disclosed or stored overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients are subject to privacy safeguards that provide comparable protection to that required under the Privacy Act 2020, whether through contractual arrangements, recognised privacy standards or other lawful mechanisms.


9. Technology and AI


Peak Recruitment uses a range of technology platforms to support recruitment, administration, communication and document management. These may include applicant tracking systems, customer relationship management software, email platforms, document management systems and artificial intelligence tools that assist with note-taking, drafting, summarising or administrative tasks. Technology assists our consultants but does not replace human judgement in assessing candidate suitability or making recruitment recommendations.


10. Website and Cookies


Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to improve functionality and understand how visitors use our website.


We may collect technical information including:

·      IP address;

·      browser type;

·      operating system;

·      pages visited;

·      referring websites; and

·      website usage information.


This information is generally used in aggregated form to improve our website and services.

Where we decline a correction request, you may ask us to attach a statement of the correction sought to the information.

15. Privacy Breaches


Peak Recruitment has procedures in place to identify, investigate and respond to privacy breaches.


Where a privacy breach has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will comply with our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner where required.


16. Privacy Officer


Our Privacy Officer is responsible for overseeing compliance with the Privacy Act 2020, responding to privacy enquiries and handling privacy complaints.
